We operate several departments all working together for our customers and we are made up of; the Board of Directors, the Support Team, The Sales Team, the Business Operations Team, the Quality Assurance Team, the Development Team, the Online Team and the Administration Team

Emily Davies, New Business Team Leader

I first joined Merit Software in 2000 on a work placement scheme from University. Following my graduation, I was then offered a full-time position and joined the company in September 2001. During my time I have worked in a variety of departments and was appointed Team Lead of the New Business Development Team when it was formed.

My role involves project planning, ensuring all new system installation projects meet the client’s requirements and providing successful delivery.

I enjoy the challenges a new project brings and strive to ensure a good working relationship is formed with all project stakeholders.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and more often than not this involves taking them off to concerts, shows and museums around the UK and abroad.

Bruce McConnell-Lawlor

Financial Accounts Manager

I joined Merit in 2006 and my job was originally Office Manager/ Accounts Administrator. As the company has grown, my job has evolved to become the Financial Accounts Manager.

My role is all things financial.  Including invoicing, receiving & making payments, bank reconciliation and reporting to the directors. I enjoy the challenges and personal progression in my role and find that no two days are the same.

Outside of the office, I am an active member of the Sealed Knot battle enactment society, which I’ve been involved with for more than 30 years. I also enjoy watching football and being a Liverpool supporter, I’m always the optimist. I also enjoy spending time with my family.

Luke Lorch, Development Team Leader

I’ve been working at Merit Software since 2010, and have been the Development Team Leader since 2016.

Day to day, my role involves the assessing, specifying and supervising of all Technical and non-Technical elements of the Core Product Development lifecycle.

I enjoy the challenge of delivering changes and maintaining the core product, whist engaging with Customers who require change or new systems.

My main hobby outside of work is playing Pool competitively, I also spend a large amount of time studying business and technology and love being with my family of two children.

Bryn Nicholas

Online Team Leader

I joined the Merit Software team in 2014 and my role as Online Team Leader involves the development of new software products and modules, in line with our product roadmap.

I enjoy the challenge of delivering innovative software products that make a real difference to our customers business operations. The role is very varied, from problem-solving to developing new ideas and I consider myself  lucky to lead a talented team of developers who are committed to customer success.

When I’m not busy developing new software projects, you can usually find me surfing on the Pembrokeshire coast, visiting the gym and spending time with my family.

Rebecca Power

Business Operations Team Leader

I started work at Merit in 2009 and have been in a number of roles, however, I have been the Projects Team Leader since 2016

My role involves managing the Business Operations team, overseeing the change requests to the core product. We work closely with the Development Team and QA team to ensure that changes are assessed, developed, tested and implemented into our client’s systems as smoothly as possible. Alongside this I also manage the strategic projects, acting as Project Manager for our quarterly releases and up and coming changes that are being introduced to the core product.

I love the interaction with clients and the new challenges that are introduced in the role. I am always learning. I am happy in the knowledge that I have a dedicated, supportive team who work hard and care about the work and the clients.

Outside of work I enjoy reading, socialising and spending time with my family.

Rob Elias

QA Team Leader

I have been with Merit Software since 2003. This has consisted of ten years as the Support Manager and since 2017 in my role as QA Manager.

My role is to assess and develop policies and procedures, to investigate and report quality issues, whilst monitoring all operations that affect quality. My team works closely in conjunction with the Business Operations team to ensure that all projects meet our quality standards.

What I enjoy about my role is the challenge of devising procedures that interact with and improve each department and the opportunity to deliver quality across our wide range of payroll and billing software solutions.

My hobbies include playing 5-a-side football, going to the cinema and spending time with the family -and if there’s any time left a bit of Xbox.

Simon Marchant, Support Manager

I joined the Merit Software team in 2014, beginning as a Support Team member, before being promoted to the position of Support Team Leader.

My role is completely customer focused, day to day I coordinate our team, aiding customers with payroll issues and technical support with our product range.

The best part of my job is the satisfaction I get from problem-solving our customer’s queries and also seeing the development of skills and knowledge amongst my team. We are a passionate group and are always looking to share knowledge across the company where we can.

Outside of work my passions are live music, kayaking around the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast and family outings.

Joseph Durrant, Marketing Manager

I joined the Merit Software team in 2017 and have previously worked in B2C & B2B Marketing Roles, as well as Business Development.

My role involves the planning and implementation of Merit Software’s Marketing Communications, working closely with our New Business Development team.

I enjoy managing all aspects of our Marketing mix and finding innovative ways to communicate with our customers and prospects. I get great satisfaction in seeing our customers improving their businesses and services as a result of Merit’s product suite and the long lasting relationships we build with them.

Outside of work I’m a die-hard Newcastle supporter (nobody’s perfect!) and a keen footballer. I’m passionate about Marketing and Design and also try to get to a few music festivals each year.

 

Sam Radion

Sales Director

I joined Merit Software in 2008 and am responsible for the management of all inbound sales and the sales processes within the team. Merit has a series of core values such as Professionalism and Trustworthiness and I believe strongly in being honest and upfront with customers at all times. As Sales Director I am responsible for maintaining sales growth and reporting to the board and our shareholders.

It’s really nice to sell a product that you know works well for your customers and helps them grow. I have worked in various Sales and IT roles in the past, including some very high-pressure sales roles (including double glazing and vacuum cleaners for a short while!), and Merit is refreshing in that it has always looked towards steady growth and supporting customers by doing a good quality job.

I fill my spare time rather full with volunteering and am an Officer In Charge of the local Coastguard team as well as a Special Inspector with Dyfed-Powys Police. Both those roles require me to maintain a fitness level and I’ve been enjoying going for runs in the amazing scenery we have here in our area.

I joined Merit in 2005, working as Technical Director, before moving to become the company’s Managing Director.

Day to day my role involves overseeing the management of our talented workforce, liaising with our customer base and providing technical input on our product development.

What I enjoy about working at Merit is how varied my role is. I get great satisfaction in seeing how our Payroll and Invoicing solutions improve business operations for our customers- we are a market-leading company and always aim to deliver what the customer needs. The development of our staff is also key to me and I am proud to see skills and knowledge broaden across each of our teams.

Outside of work I enjoy watching a variety of sports and am a keen golfer, I also enjoy spending as much time as I can with my family.
